B/one at Annapolis Spring Show, April 26-28

The B/One is an exciting, new 23-foot trailerable, one-design sportboat designed by Farr Yacht
Design and built by Bavaria Yachtbau in Germany. Designed and built to be an economical onedesign,
the B/one is easy to handle and operate for club racing and family sailing and sure to
impress advanced sailors with its excellent performance.
 
The technologically advanced hull shape is based on research and experience with Volvo Open
70’s and the Farr 400 by Farr Yacht Design. The B/one features an uncomplicated sail plan with
single swept-backed spreaders, a deck stepped tapered aluminum mast, and retractable bow
sprit.
 
The T-style bulb keel and rudder are both retractable permitting ramp launches, and docking or
anchoring in shallow water. The retractable keel also allows for very low trailering heights, so the
boat can be towed by a relatively small vehicle.
 
Below deck, an optional V-berth forward and two pipe berths will accommodate a crew of four for
overnight regattas or weekend cruises. Interior berths including joinery are easily removable to
keep weight low while racing.
 
The B/One is a factory certifi ed one-design, and is designed and built to maintain a strict onedesign
standard with a single sail supplier and allowing minimal modifi cations. All B/One boats
will be built by Bavaria Yachtbau, using the highest quality control standards. Class rules ensure
that all boats are built and maintained to these strict standards and guarantee a level playing fi eld
on the race course.
